Schneider National announced that it has received the 2008 Truckload Carrier of the Year award from Whirlpool Corp. for its on-time delivery and creative solutions. Whirlpool measures its transportation providers’ performance monthly on a range of criteria, including on-time delivery, invoicing, claims incidence, financial stability and problem resolution. Schneider National currently provides transportation and logistics services to Whirlpool in several areas, including truckload, intermodal and third-party logistics.

“We hold our carriers to high performance standards, and Schneider National excels in every one,” says Kevin O’Meara, director of supply chain for Whirlpool. “The entire Schneider team works tirelessly to help us achieve our cost efficiency and business objectives. Their on-time delivery, creative solutions to difficult challenges and ability to do the hard stuff, especially when it comes to constantly changing capacity needs, are second to none. We congratulate them on this honor and look forward to continuing to work with them.”

Whirlpool launched its carrier award program in 2005 to recognize transportation providers for outstanding service in the categories of less-than-truckload, truckload, intermodal, small pack and regional transportation.

“We’re honored to be recognized and to know our team’s efforts have contributed to Whirlpool Corporation’s business success,” says Mark Rourke, president of transportation services for Schneider National, based in Green Bay, Wis. “Our goal is to be their first call for all their transportation needs, and our team will continue to go above and beyond each and every day to make that happen.”
