J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. announced Monday, March 1, that it has increased the number of seats on its board of directors and elected Douglas G. Duncan to fill the vacancy created by the addition. Duncan, 59, recently retired as president and founding chief executive officer of FedEx Freight Corp. Duncan also served on the Strategic Management Committee of FedEx Corp.
Before the formation of FedEx Freight, Duncan served for two years as president and CEO of Viking Freight. With 30 years of transportation experience, he has held management positions in operations, sales and marketing with Caliber System and Roadway Express. He served on the executive committee of the American Trucking Associations and as chairman of the American Transportation Research Institute. He also serves on the board of Benchmark Electronics Inc.
