Pegasus TransTech announced the keynote speaker for its upcoming Users Conference – scheduled for April 21 and 22 at The Marriott Sand Key Resort, Clearwater Beach, Fla. – will be applied technology expert James P. Hogg from the faculty of the University of Central Florida. Hogg will discuss emerging technologies, how they are likely to impact business, and their potential in the transportation industry.

Hogg has addressed numerous business executive groups with a commanding knowledge of technology developments and the opportunities they present. Among the technologies Hogg will cover are the rapidly emerging capabilities of mobile devices and their application in transportation. “We’ll see a paradigm shift in technology,” Hoggsays. “What we’re seeing now is just the beginning of it.”

Hogg will discuss developments like the potential of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) imbedded in mobile devices and wireless networks that might enable users wearing, say, special glasses to instantly retrieve data such as shipment information simply by looking at a bill of lading or cartons on a truck.

“We’re very pleased to have James as our keynoter,” says Bob Helms, Pegasus chairman and chief executive officer. “He will help our attendees understand the likely impact of evolving technologies as well as the potential of those developments in their own business environments.”
