As a part of the company’s 25th anniversary celebration, Nissan Diesel America’s president Dayle Wetherell announced that Nissan Diesel America’s company name will become UD Trucks North America Inc., effective May 1. The change is part of a new branding strategy being implemented by the company and complements the recent name change of its parent company from Nissan Diesel Motor Co. Ltd. to UD Trucks Corp.
In conjunction with the name change, a new brand identity strategy will incorporate a redesigned UD Trucks logo and service mark, as well as plans for new dealership brand identification for the UD Trucks product line.
“We will strongly promote UD Trucks North America and the UD Trucks brand of medium-duty diesel trucks, which is one of the Volvo Group brands in North America,” Wetherell says. “We will build on the UD Trucks reputation for ultimate dependability, which has been the foundation of our history for over 25 years.”
In conjunction with the name change, the company has revamped its website with a new look, a new logo and streamlined functionality. The new site is accessible at www.udtrucksna.com.
“We wanted to reflect the new branding strategy for the UD Trucks product, and we wanted the website to have the same characteristics found in the truck products we sell – crisp lines, sharp styling, as well as straightforward, almost effortlessness navigation throughout the site,” says Brian Wagner, director of marketing. “Both first-time users and returning customers are able to locate the information they need with a few simple clicks. We need the consumer to be comfortable on the website, while incorporating the new brand presence from the UD Truck product.”
“The new brand image will be highly visible worldwide, whether a UD Truck customer visits UDNA’s website or one of our sister companies in other markets throughout the world,” Wetherell says. “The UD Trucks brand is based on a heritage of professionalism in our dealings with our customers, passion in our approach to customer service and support and dependability in the products we offer the marketplace. The new website is an important part of our ongoing corporate strategy to strengthen the UD Trucks brand image here in North America.”
