TMW Systems announced that its 2010 TransForum User Conference and Exhibition has been moved from the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, Tenn., to the Gaylord Texan property in Grapevine, Texas, near the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. Following reports of extensive flooding damage to the original TransForum event location, the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville and TMW Systems began working with staff from Gaylord to make new location arrangements. This year’s event will begin on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 19, and run through Wednesday, Sept. 22.

“The sheer amount of flooding and resulting water damage to the beautiful atrium, hotel and convention center spaces at the Gaylord Opryland made it unlikely that the site would re-open in time for our event,” says Michael August, vice president and general manager of TMW Systems and co-chairman of the TransForum Planning team. “The Gaylord Opryland and Gaylord Texan organization worked tirelessly to help us make new arrangements at a sister property in record time, preventing any need to postpone or significantly alter our TransForum dates.”

TMW Systems, a software provider for the transportation services industry, had scheduled its 25th annual user conference and exhibition, now known as TransForum, for the second year in a row in Nashville at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. The conference, which now averages more 1,200 attendees from North America each year, will instead take place at the Gaylord Texan Hotel & Convention Center in Grapevine, located about 20 miles northwest of downtown Dallas.

“Our hearts go out to the thousands of Nashville residents affected by this catastrophe, and especially to the employees of the Gaylord Opryland, who helped to make our TransForum event in 2009 such a wonderful experience for all of our guests,” August says. “We look forward to returning TransForum to the city of Nashville for another year sometime in the future.”
