Firestone Industrial Products Co. announced that its air spring manufacturing plant in Sao Paulo, Brazil, has earned ISO/TS 16949 certification. The Brazil manufacturing plant is the third Firestone Industrial Products facility to earn TS Certification. The company’s facilities in Williamsburg, Ky., and Wolsztyn, Poland, also have achieved the technical specification created by the International Automotive Task Force to align quality system standards for automotive products worldwide.
To achieve certification, the Brazil plant developed a comprehensive quality management system, specific to automotive suppliers, which underwent an independent audit. “The company’s certification reinforces Firestone Industrial Products’ commitment to producing high-quality products for our customers,” says Acacio Santos, Brazil plant general manager. “We remain diligent in our efforts to supply the global air spring market with superior products that meet an internationally recognized set of requirements.”
