Exel named Georgia-Pacific’s Intermodal Carrier of the Year

Exel Transportation announced that it received the Intermodal Carrier of the Year award from Georgia-Pacific, recognizing the company for on-time delivery, shipping accuracy, safety and compliance, ease of doing business and quality, among other criteria.

“Exel Transportation earned our Intermodal Carrier of the Year award for its exceptional service during 2009,” says Paul Snider, vice president of transportation for Georgia-Pacific. “This high-performing team provided 99.8 percent on-time service to the minute, and their efforts help us meet our efficiency and service goals each day.”

Exel Transportation provides transportation services to Georgia-Pacific for consumer products, including tissue paper and paper towels, as well as office copy paper and linerboard. “We are pleased to be recognized by Georgia-Pacific and have enjoyed doing business with the company for more than 20 years,” says Todd Thompson, vice president and general manager of Exel Transportation. “Our staff in Slidell, La., works closely with the customer, as well as our own partners, to maintain this impressive on-time performance record and help Georgia-Pacific best serve its own customers.”
