Mentor Engineering announced the certification of Mentor Ranger, a rugged in-vehicle mobile computer, on the Rogers data network.

Ranger is utilizing integrated 3G technology, taking advantage of the newest generation of HSPA wireless communications provided by Rogers, the largest wireless communications carrier in Canada.

“Mentor’s new and existing clients will benefit from greater network coverage and access to 3G data speeds with this most recent Ranger certification,” says Mike Koebel, vice president of sales and business development at Mentor.

Ranger facilitates real-time communication between drivers and dispatchers, supports work order management functions such as on-the-fly schedule changes, and provides vehicle telemetry and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) information, the company says.
