PAM Transportation Services on Tuesday, Oct. 5, announced the sale of its East Coast Transport & Logistics brokerage operation in Paulsboro, N.J., the final step to consolidating its operations into one operating entity, PAM Transport Inc. “While this sale will decrease revenue, it will not have a material effect on our net income,” says Dan Cushman, president and chief executive officer.

The Tontitown, Ark.-based company says the Sept. 30 sale of East Coast Transport & Logistics, terms of which were not released, will allow it to better focus on development of capacity alternatives to provide flexibility to its customers in a market characterized by tightening carrier capacity, while at the same time complementing its own operations in light of increased asset utilization and a downturn in the supply of available drivers.

In late 2009, PAM introduced Supply Chain Solutions, a program that is integrated with and complements its asset-based operations.
