TransCore announced that its Canadian Freight Index recorded the highest load volumes ever posted in the month of January, with volumes exceeding the previous record set during the upsurge in 2008 by 4 percent.
January postings were up 30 percent over January 2010, while month-over-month declined by just over a percentage point from the previous month’s record load volumes in December 2010.
With loads reaching a peak in January, equipment postings reflected the exact opposite results. According to TransCore’s index, equipment postings descended to the lowest levels for the month in more than five years.
