Randall-Reilly Business Media & Information, publisher of Commercial Carrier Journal, has promoted Avery Vise to the newly created position of executive director, trucking research and analysis. Vise formerly served as editorial director for the company’s fleet, dealer and aftermarket brands.

In his new role, Vise will lead the company’s growing portfolio of products developed to provide market intelligence to fleets, dealers, independent parts distributors, repair facilities and trucking industry suppliers. Vise also will direct the operations of TruckGauge, a soon-to-be-introduced economic forecasting product developed in conjunction with the analysts at FTR Associates. Several other market intelligence products are currently under development.

“A key growth strategy at Randall-Reilly is to use our own data combined with strategic partnerships to develop products that provide insights into our markets,” says Mike Reilly, Randall-Reilly chairman, president and chief executive officer. “We are excited about the opportunities and Avery’s ability to capitalize on them.”

Vise also will lead proprietary research and analysis projects for Randall-Reilly’s trucking industry clients and will contribute regular industry analysis to the company’s trucking magazines and websites. “Avery’s in-depth knowledge of the trucking industry and understanding of how quality market intelligence can help trucking businesses achieve success make him the perfect fit to lead our efforts,” says Linda Longton, Randall-Reilly senior vice president, editorial and research.

Vise joined the company in 1998 and was named editor of CCJ in 2001. He was succeeded as editor in 2009 by Jeff Crissey, a longtime Randall-Reilly editorial associate. Crissey will continue to lead CCJ’s editorial team and will direct the brand’s online and educational products, including CCJ Daily Report, Commercial Carrier University and the Innovator of the Year program.

Vise is a four-time recipient of the prestigious Jesse H. Neal Award, as well as numerous awards from the American Society of Business Publication Editors. Prior to joining Randall-Reilly, Vise worked for McGraw-Hill. He is a graduate of Georgetown University.
