UPS Freight names 2011-2012 All-Star Road Team

UPS Freight recently named its 2011-2012 All-Star Road Team, a squad of 14 city and road drivers with a combined 300 years of experience and more than 17 million accident-free miles behind the wheel. In addition to serving as certified trainers and sharing their expertise with other company drivers, the All-Star Road Team members will serve as company ambassadors for the next two years, speaking on safety issues at schools, statehouses and with community groups.

“These drivers not only are among the finest the industry has to offer but are model citizens in their communities,” says Phil Warren, UPS Freight vice president of community relations. “We welcome them to our road team as representatives of UPS Freight and leaders of the more than 8,400 UPS Freight drivers dedicated to the safe delivery of our customers’ products.”

Named to the team were Salvador Cardenas, Los Angeles city driver; James Chicallo, Scranton, Pa., city driver; Joseph Crespin, Los Angeles road driver; Norman Currence, Palantine, Ill., road driver; Shaun Flageolle, Denver city driver; Sam Lester. Norfolk, Va., city driver; Kenneth Manning, Gaffney, S.C., city driver; John McKown, Harrisburg, Pa., road driver; John Rollyson, Indianapolis city driver; Mark Shinski, Des Moines, Iowa, city driver; Eddie Willis, Hickory, N.C., city driver; Robin Wofford, Tupelo, Miss., city driver; Howard Bray, truckload driver with Kingsdown operation (N.C.); and Phillip Wolske, truckload driver with Ferguson operation (Va.).
