Werner Enterprises celebrated the launch of a new era in Omaha, Nebraska’s Triple-A Baseball history with the opening day of Werner Park on Saturday, April 16. For the inaugural game at Werner Park, C.L. Werner, founder and chairman of Werner Enterprises, threw out the ceremonial first pitch during the pregame ceremony. At this time, he also was presented with a personalized Omaha Storm Chasers jersey. The game was played in front of a sellout crowd as the Omaha Storm Chasers defeated the Nashville Sounds 2-1.

“This day is in honor of the extended Werner family, our associates and professional drivers, who are a part of Werner Enterprises and Werner Global Logistics across the globe,” Werner says. “The naming of Werner Park and its opening day are dedicated to all of them and their efforts in making us a best-in-class company. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone at Werner Enterprises and the Omaha Storm Chasers who have worked very hard to make all of this possible. I truly appreciate what they have done.”

Werner Enterprises has had a long-standing relationship with Triple-A Baseball in Omaha and has been the presenting partner of the team for the past four years. Last November it was announced that the company would become the naming rights sponsor of the ballpark.
