Duie Pyle was the recipient of the Compass Minerals 2010-2011 Service Excellence Award, which was presented to Peter Latta, chairman and owner of the carrier, during an awards banquet at the corporate office of Compass Minerals in Overland Park, Kan. “Our Pyle team is honored to receive the Service Excellence Award again this year for continuing to bring solutions to the Compass Minerals supply chain network,” says Latta.
A. Duie Pyle is one of 28 companies from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom who were recognized by Angelo Brisimitzakis, Compass Minerals president and chief executive officer, as companies that consistently provided excellent service, innovation and supply chain solutions. Compass Minerals works with more than 500 supply chain providers. “Each company’s selection for an award is a significant achievement, and we look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with all of our suppliers,” says Dr. Brisimitzakis.
In 2009, Compass Minerals selected Pyle as an instrumental part of their Northeast distribution strategy, utilizing the company’s 350,000-square-foot warehouse with indoor rail-siding in Parkesburg, Pa., and Pyle’s transportation services that include both van and flatbed. 2011 marks the second consecutive year that Pyle has earned Compass Minerals’ Service Excellence Award.
