enVista, an enterprise and supply chain consulting services firm, announced that is has made a strategic investment in Contech Systems Inc., provider of the DataManager warehouse control system designed to help companies direct activities in their warehouses and distribution centers in real time. enVista says it made the investment as part of its mission to deliver enterprise excellence from source to consumption.

“As a consulting firm, enVista has always been focused on eliminating supply chain waste and driving process improvements,” says Jim Barnes, enVista president and chief executive officer. “The activities within the four walls of the warehouse and distribution center are complex, time-sensitive and impact customer service. One of the gaps we continue to see in companies’ supply chains is the ability to control systems and processes in these facilities in real time.”

Barnes says Contech’s warehouse control system, DataManager, acts as a hub or “central nervous system,” integrating and optimizing people, processes and technology within the four walls. “Accordingly, we are excited to partner with Contech to provide clients a best-of-breed warehouse control system to optimize their facilities in real time,” he says.

The system is in use in more than 150 U.S. distribution centers. enVista will resell the system under the name, enMotion. “We are very excited to team up with enVista to deliver greater supply chain control and visibility,” says Michael Newman, Contech Systems president. “Our alignment with enVista will enable us to expand our reach and ability to support companies’ supply chain strategies with supporting WCS technology.”
