J.S. Helwig & Son, a common and contract temperature-controlled and time-sensitive carrier serving customers across the contiguous 48 states, announced a new pay increase for drivers now in effect. There will be a 2-cent minimum pay increase for company drivers, while some current drivers now being paid 32 to 35 cents based on level of experience will go to 37 cents (two to five years of experience), 38 cents (six years of experience) and 39 cents (seven and more years of experience).

“Some current Helwig drivers will get as much as a nickel increase,” says James Helwig, owner, president and chief executive officer of the Terrell, Texas-based company. Owner-operators will receive a 3-cent increase.
