Shell Oil Co. and Allied Oil & Supply teamed up to assist in the relief efforts of Joplin, Mo., in the wake of the May tornado. Shell donated 420 cases of Pennzoil Premium 2-Cycle Oil, which equated to 5,040 16-ounce bottles. Employees of Allied’s Joplin branch handed out the cases at the Cummins Central Power lot, located at 3507 E. 20th St. in Joplin on June 16 and 17.

Pennzoil 2-Cycle Oil for Air-Cooled Engines has been designed specifically for use in air-cooled engines such as those found in lawnmowers, weed cutters, chainsaws, motorcycles and small generators. “To support the ongoing relief efforts for Joplin, Shell and Allied have worked together to provide and donate 2 cycle chainsaw oil to assist with the ongoing clearing and rebuilding efforts in the Joplin community,” says Lee Zorn, marketing operations manager for Shell – US. “Our hearts go out to the families of Joplin who have lost so much in this tragic event.”

Allied’s sales team, along with branch manager John Hilbert, jumped at the opportunity to personally distribute the cases of Pennzoil to the community. “Even though Allied Oil & Supply, Inc. was not directly affected by the tornado, a lot of our customers and their families were in some way,” Hilbert says. “Many of these same people are the ones helping in the cleanup efforts. Our sales professionals all agreed that this was a good way to say thank you in person to everyone that came by.”

About 100 cases remain of the Pennzoil Premium 2-Cycle Oil. Anyone in need of the product should contact Hilbert at 417-623-4771 or visit Allied Oil & Supply at 5442 Highway 43 S., Joplin, MO 64804.
