J. Haley Trucking honored as Family Business of the Year

J. Haley Trucking was honored as Family Business of the Year by The East Williamsburg Valley Industrial Development Corporation at the recent EWVIDCO Annual Awards Celebration, held in Brooklyn, N.Y. A third-generation family-owned and -operated trucking company, J. Haley Trucking was founded in 1919 and is the oldest continuously operating trucking carrier in the region.

The company specializes in cartage for outside carriers and same-day and overnight deliveries in the New York City metropolitan area. J. Haley Trucking’s customers represent a wide variety of industries, and the company’s systems of liftgate and inside deliveries handle loads ranging from commodities including paper, textiles and food products to construction products and vending machines. The company employs 30 people, mostly local residents.

Robert Haley, president and chief executive officer, accepted the award. Haley, the grandson of founder James Haley, oversees business development and sales; he has been affiliated with the company since 1981.
