J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. announced the launch of a new Website, www.WhatisCSA.com to promote the sharing of information about the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Compliance, Safety, Accountability safety initiative. WhatisCSA.com’s purpose is to offer a means for the transportation industry and the public to find resources for understanding and addressing CSA’s requirements.

“We want WhatisCSA.com to be a valuable information tool for the industry that helps make our highways safer for everyone,” says Greer Woodruff, senior vice president of corporate safety at Lowell, Ark.-based J.B. Hunt. Visitors to WhatisCSA.com will find common-sense overviews of the CSA initiative and its model for measurement, evaluation and intervention. Information is geared toward the specific concerns for drivers, carriers, private fleets and shippers and is tailored to each of them individually.

Among WhatisCSA.com’s features is a “Scores” page designed to allow users to search for CSA scores for any carrier by multiple criteria from U.S. Department of Transportation number or carrier name to city, state, ZIP code or country. The “Resources” page provides multiple links to outside content, as well as a CSA-related news feed, a glossary of CSA terms, links to social media such as Facebook and Twitter, and interactive features such as CSA-related quizzes.

Ultimately, the goal is better access to information for both the transportation industry and the public, Woodruff says. “WhatisCSA.com helps us collaborate and share CSA information throughout our entire enterprise and beyond,” he says. “We want to remain at the forefront of compliant carriers, and WhatisCSA.com reaffirms our commitment to be a leader in the area of transportation safety.”
