Amyris Inc., a renewable chemicals and fuels company, is the newest member of the Diesel Technology Forum, a nonprofit organization that promotes the use of the latest clean diesel technologies in the United States. “We are excited to work with the Diesel Technology Forum to expand and advance the use of clean diesel fuels in the United States,” says John Melo, chief executive officer of Amyris.

Allen Schaeffer, DTF executive director, says Amyris has distinguished itself as a leader in producing and commercializing second-generation renewable fuels. “Amyris’s work to reduce emissions and petroleum consumption by producing a drop-in renewable diesel fuel exemplifies the creativity and innovation that continues to drive clean diesel technology,” he says. “Advanced second-generation biofuels such as those produced by Amyris have broad market appeal in the U.S. and around the world, and are particularly interesting for truck fleets, public transit and other diesel-powered applications.”
