PeopleNet, a provider of onboard computing and mobile communications systems, announced that attendance at its 2011 user conference will break a record. Brian McLaughlin, PeopleNet chief operating officer, says that with the event four weeks away, there is a 70 percent increase in interest to date.

“Our industry is rife with regulatory and technological change as well as financial challenges, and this is a one-stop resource for fleets to navigate these changes and challenges,” McLaughlin says. “It’s an opportunity to learn not only from PeopleNet’s industry leaders, but also from other transportation companies that share their experiences in roundtables and presentations. We want to educate our customers to help them get the most out of their technology investment, including staying ahead of the competitive curve.”

The ninth Annual PeopleNet User Conference, scheduled for Aug. 15-17 in Boca Raton, Fla., at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, focuses on helping fleets maximize return on investment and miles per gallon and reduce maintenance costs with the tools and information that PeopleNet provides them. In all, 36 sessions will address the unique needs of truckload, less-than-truckload, private and service fleets.
