C.H. Robinson says 2Q net income up 14.2%

Third-party logistics provider C.H. Robinson Worldwide on Tuesday, July 26, reported net income of $111 million for the second quarter of 2011, a 14.2 percent increase from $97.2 million for the second quarter of 2010. Revenue improved 10.3 percent to $2.7 billion.

Transportation revenue was $367.8 million, an 18.7 percent increase. Truck revenue, which includes both truckload and less-than-truckload, was $314.3 million, a 20.9 percent increase. Truckload pricing increased about 6 percent.

Intermodal net revenue was up 15.2 percent because of price increases and increased net revenue margin, the Minneapolis-based company said.
