Vigillo, creators of Daylight, the CSA Platform for Transportation, announced the release of Carrier Select, the first product in its Shipper/Broker Suite. The latest offering is designed to allow freight brokers, shippers and insurance providers to use real-time data to analyze motor carrier performance and make more informed choices.

“Freight brokers, shippers and insurers have become increasingly concerned with monitoring the insurance, operating authority, safety rating and CSA safety performance of their motor carrier partners,” says Steven Bryan, chief executive officer of Vigillo. “Carrier Select taps into critical database sources to give them real-time visibility into the ever changing landscape of a carrier’s overall safety and risk profile.”

The Carrier Select application is prepopulated with information on more than 1.2 million motor carriers in the FMCSA Census database. Carrier Select provides tools to set selection criteria through rules, filters and tags, as well as geolocation features. Users can create a “My Carrier” list and control the parameters they use to monitor and evaluate motor carrier partners. Among the analysis capabilities are carrier type, location and Compliance Safety Accountability scores for each BASIC. With Carrier Select, brokers, insurers and shippers decide what data they feel is important to monitor and define and will receive reports if that data falls outside an acceptable range.

Bryan says demand for Carrier Select is high among Vigillo’s 2,000-plus CSA Scorecard customers. “We’re hearing that they want this capability,” he says. “Carrier Select brings brokers, shippers and insurers the same powerful analysis and monitoring tools that motor carriers have come to expect from Vigillo.”
