TMW Systems announced that its annual user conference and exhibition, TransForum 2011, saw record attendance of 1,600 participants and more than 55 exhibitors and industry partners during the three-day event at the Gaylord Texan Hotel and Resort in Dallas. TMW says the robust turnout was an indicator of growing transportation industry confidence in upward rate trends and capacity stabilization leading to interest in future technology investments. The conference included three days of more than 300 software classes, industry topics and business sessions.

“Our customers have demonstrated an increasingly positive outlook for revenue growth this year with steady capacity additions,” says David Wangler, president and chief executive officer of TMW Systems, “Their willingness to send key staffers for continuing education on new product capabilities is also a strong sign of their interest in greater productivity and preparation for growth.”

Keynote speaker at the event was entrepreneur turned alternative energy advocate T. Boone Pickens, who spoke on foreign oil dependence, the energy supply chain and energy options for the future. FOX Business Network personality, author and primetime talk show host Lou Dobbs also spoke on the economy, politics and national challenges.

Other speakers of note at the event included Satish Jindel of SJ Consulting, industry analyst and frequent Bloomberg Radio contributor; Robert Voltmann, president of the Transportation Intermediaries Association; and Tim Almack, senior partner with KSM Advisors, a financial consulting group with a transportation focus.

The inaugural TMW Technology Awards were presented to seven companies for exemplary software and technology deployments at an evening dinner ceremony on Monday, Sept. 19.
