IronPlanet, an online marketplace for used heavy equipment, announced its new mobile app for iPhone and Android smartphones. The free app is designed to give users the convenience and flexibility to find and bid on equipment in IronPlanet auctions from their phone.
“We are very excited to bring the world of IronPlanet to the hands of equipment buyers,” says Greg Owens, chairman and chief executive officer of IronPlanet. “Buyers are increasingly turning to IronPlanet’s marketplace to purchase equipment, as our online auction site has become a better way to buy equipment. IronPlanet’s mobile app provides equipment buyers mobile access to weekly auctions, global inventory and our exclusive IronClad Assurance.”
The IronPlanet mobile app allows users to search global inventory by equipment category or auction date from their mobile devices. With just a few taps, users can review inspection reports, add items to their “Watch List” and place bids. Users also can view live auctions and real-time bidding activity all from their phones.
“IronPlanet pioneered online equipment auctions over a decade ago,” says Jeff Barca-Hall, chief technology officer for IronPlanet. “We have now transformed our innovative technology into a mobile app with additional functionality – all resulting in a better bidder experience at IronPlanet auctions.”
IronPlanet’s mobile app provides instant alerts to the buyer when they have either won the item or been outbid. IronPlanet’s dedicated customer service team is also available with a one-touch dialing function. The free mobile app can be downloaded from the iTunes Store and Android Marketplace.
