The American Sleep Apnea Association announced that Anne Ferro, administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, will be participating as a keynote speaker at the Sleep Apnea & Multi-Modal Transportation Conference, set for Nov. 8-9 in Baltimore.

“Administrator Ferro’s appearance further underscores DOT’s focus on fatigue and the role of sleep apnea management in mitigating associated risks,” says Ed Grandi, ASAA executive director. “Having a top official join an already stellar group of speakers is very rewarding and much appreciated. We look forward to a truly impactful and informative program that we hope can contribute to the progress being made in all modes of transportation.”

Although the “early bird” discount deadline has passed, ASAA is offering a special government rate of $275 for the two-day conference to any federal, state or local government employee. For more information, go to www.samtc2011.org.
