Kinedyne announced that its manufacturing facility in Nantong, China, recently achieved the ISO 9001:2008 certification of its Quality Management System (QMS). The Nantong facility produces most of the company’s products, including cargo securement devices for customers in the truck/automotive aftermarket and government sectors, and is the second Kinedyne location to receive this internationally recognized quality management certification.

Kinedyne Corp. – a vertically integrated manufacturer of cargo securement equipment – offers a range of capabilities, including synthetic web production, metal fabrication, roll forming, heat treating, plating, electrocoating, powder coating and fabrication of strap assemblies.

“The procedure to achieve ISO certification requires a detailed review of key processes across the entire facility,” says Peter Miko, gobal quality director for Kinedyne. “We were able to identify those operations that are critical to our business and streamline them by removing steps that were not essential to the delivery of quality products to our customers. It was a challenging process, but along the way we acquired a great deal of information about our operations. This data will help us make dramatic enhancements to our quality management system.”

Miko says all employees at the Nantong plant worked diligently for more than a year to achieve the recognition by documenting processes and other operations within the facility. In addition to the ISO 9001:2008 certification, the Kinedyne Nantong facility maintains a German Safety Certification Mark for certain products, which is required in the European Union.
