NATSO, the national trade association representing truckstops and travel plazas, has named Darrin Flitton, fleet and truckstop Mmanager of the Gold Truckstop network for Sinclair Oil, as its 2012 board chairman. Flitton has served 24 years in truckstop and travel plaza and other business-related positions. Sinclair Oil has been an active member of NATSO since 1991.

“We’re excited to begin 2012 with Darrin as our Chairman,” says Lisa Mullings, NATSO president and chief executive officer. “Darrin brings a wealth of insight, industry knowledge and leadership to NATSO.”

Prior to joining Sinclair Oil, Flitton served as a district manager for Interstate Brands Corp., account representative for Barjan, corporate buyer and merchandise manager for Flying J Inc., and front end manager for Smith’s Food and Drug Centers.

Flitton currently serves on the Buying Committee for Ambest and has served on the board for Granger Crossing District, a volunteer position within a nonprofit organization designed to improve the business district of an inner city suburb of Salt Lake City.

Flitton succeeds Bobby Berkstresser, owner of Lee Hi Travel Plaza and White’s Travel Center, who now serves as chairman of NATSO’s Steering Council Committee.
