XPO Logistics, a provider of nonasset-based third-party, has been recognized by UPS for the performance of its Express-1 business unit. Express-1 was named Carrier of the Year by the UPS Freight Urgent Services group, based on a 2011 analysis of customer service metrics and satisfaction ratings.
“This honor means a great deal to our team, because it reflects the value we deliver to UPS as a key partner in the supply chain,” says Jeff Curry, president of Express-1. “It’s also a tribute to our exceptional owner-operators, who share our commitment to the UPS relationship.”
Brian Whitley, director of UPS Freight Urgent Services, says Express-1 was the group’s leading provider of third-party ground carrier logistics in 2011 and ranked highest in all seven categories of service to UPS, as well as on-time performance. “We have confidence in Express-1’s ability to come through for our customers,” Whitley says.
