At the Technology and Maintenance Council Spring Meeting in Tampa, Fla., Laydon Composites unveiled its Hybrid248 fairing designed to be highly configurable and eliminate problems with low ground clearances. The new skirt mounts 8 inches inboard and is 32 inches high.

Laydon also worked to make the Hybrid248 more durable in the field. A new composite flexible spring produced from 18 layers of fiber allows for a 180-degree bend and has been durability tested to more than 20,000 duty cycles.
