Jacobs Vehicle Systems, a manufacturer of heavy- duty diesel engine retarding systems and valve actuation mechanisms, announced that it has developed its first natural gas engine brake for the Cummins ISX12 G. The engine brake by Jacobs will be offered as optional equipment and will be available in 2013.
Jacobs says the engine brake is the result of a two-year collaboration between Jacobs and Cummins engineers to provide an engine brake to exceed the design challenges associated with a natural gas engine.
