Michelin Americas Truck Tires’ Michelin X Multi Energy D drive tire is designed for enhanced fuel efficiency, optimized traction and long tread life in regional and super-regional applications. The top layer of Michelin’s Dual Energy Compound Tread rubber is balanced for added fuel efficiency while exhibiting wear properties to resist tread scrub; the bottom layer is designed to maintain cool casing temperatures for low rolling resistance and extended casing life. The tire employs Michelin’s Matrix Siping Technology to provide the interlocking tread action for added traction and even wear; the siping’s zigzag grooved walls provide not only biting edges for traction but also for water and snow evacuation. The tire’s shoulder area also includes siping, further helping traction in adverse weather conditions without compromising tread life. The company’s SipeSaver Technology adds a teardrop-shaped groove at the base of the shoulder sipes to help relieve stresses on the tread and prevent tearing, while the wide footprint and wider working belts help improve stability. The optimized footprint helps reduce the need for additional tread depth, allowing for added mileage from the 24/32nds of original tread.

Michelin Americas Truck Tires’ wide single X One XDN2 Pre-Mold retread provides the traction of a lug-style tread while optimizing mileage. The all-weather retread’s Matrix Siping Technology provides added traction on dry and slippery surfaces, while full-depth sipes supply additional traction; the three-dimensional Matrix sipes lock together for the stability normally associated with solid tread blocks. The tread’s wide open shoulder grooves deliver additional traction balanced with tread life. The 375mm retread is available with 27/32nds of tread depth.
