Vipar Heavy Duty announced that CommPar of Sterling Heights, Mich. is the newest stockholder to join the organization’s network of distributors. The newly formed corporation is an extension of Power Brake and Spring, a 60-year-old distribution company based in South Bend, Ind., and led by Bill Nolan and Don Walker.

“We have been researching the Detroit metro area for years and saw the need for a new independent heavy-duty distributor that offers high-quality branded parts and outstanding customer service,” said Nolan. “We are excited to begin operations with a local company run by local people who are veterans of the heavy-duty industry.”

Nolan said other locations are planned down the road to enable aggressive expansion into the Detroit area.

“We are excited about the addition of CommPar and the opportunity to expand the Vipar Heavy Duty footprint in the Detroit metro area,” said Jim Pennig, vice president, business development, Vipar Heavy Duty. “Bill Nolan and his team at PBS are known for outstanding customer satisfaction and an extensive breadth of inventory. Bringing this outstanding business model will help Vipar Heavy Duty build a strong cornerstone in a currently underserved market.”
