I was one of Meritor’s guest in Italy last week learning about the company’s truck axle technology and production. The trip ended with a visit to the renowned race course at Misano, Italy, for the European Truck Racing Championship. Meritor is a one of the top sponsors for many of the racing teams. The trip shows a trucking culture that clearly mimics aspects of American long-haul lifestyle — but with a European flair that can seem strange to U.S. truckers.
