Geotab, a telematics engineering company, announced the availability of its new GO7 telematics device that supports a variety of fleet management applications for detecting vehicle data communications from the engine, drivetrain, instrument cluster and other relevant subsystems.
The device has a suggested retail price of $99 and supports a range of monthly subscription-based reports and services including Geotab’s fleet management software portal, MyGeotab.
GO7 is also compatible with a variety of mobile devices for the in-cab driver display, including both Apple iOS and Android platforms. Geotab offers electronic hours-of-service, driver vehicle inspection report (DVIR), and driver safety feedback as optional applications.
The Geotab GO7, the newest device in Geotab’s line of telematics systems, has a number of new features such as programmable CANBUS, OBD, J1939 connection pins, enhanced auto-protocol detection and higher sensitivity accelerometer — making the system future-proof and cost effective for any fleet to install and maintain, the company says.
The GO7 is a plug-and-play device with internal antennas for fast installation.
“We’ve installed Geotab’s newest GO device within our fleet and we’re excited to see the new features. The GO7 device is fast and easy to install and is providing us with a cost-effective solution while enhancing our fleet’s productivity and safety,” said Jim Labudde, fleet supervisor of Entergy.
The latest edition of Geotab’s GO devices caters to more than one vehicle protocol at a time, allowing the device to collect data simultaneously for all possible datasets, such as RPM, VIN, fuel level, seat belt detection and odometer. The secondary protocol support also provides more detailed engine data for a variety of vehicles, including Ford, GM, Chrysler, Volvo and Mazda. The technology is entirely scalable, from light duty, medium duty, to heavy commercial trucks, in addition to supporting all major vehicle manufacturers globally.
“Our goal is to provide the most advanced and efficient telematics solution in the industry,” said Neil Cawse, CEO, Geotab.
The top features of the GO7 system include:
● Easy plug-and-play installation
● External device expandability via IOX technology
● Intelligent in-vehicle driver coaching
● Small form factor device
● Accident detection and notification
● Accurate engine diagnostics, DTC, and proprietary engine data
● Real-time vehicle data
● Fast GPS acquisition time using Almanac OTA support
● Built-in auto-calibrating accelerometer
The GO7 device is commercially available immediately through an Authorized Geotab Reseller.
