Diesel prices continued to rise in the week ending May 11 with the national average price of a gallon of on-highway diesel increasing 2.4 cents over the previous week.
Prices have now risen for four weeks in a row.
The U.S.’ average price is now $2.878, which is $1.07 lower than the same week last year.
Prices increased in all regions of the nation this week. The Rocky Mountain region saw the least significant increase, with prices only going up eight-tenths of a cent. The Midwest saw the most significant increase of 3.3 cents.
California has the country’s most expensive diesel at $3.25, followed by the Central Atlantic region at $3.151.
The country’s cheapest diesel is in the Midwest region at $2.748, followed by the Gulf Coast region at $2.771.
