Boston-area fleet increases fuel savings 10 percent with PedalCoach app

LinkeDrive announced that Arrow Paper Corporation of Wilmington, Mass., has been able to achieve a 10 percent increase in fuel savings while improving driver satisfaction by using its PedalCoach application.

Arrow Paper Company is a Boston-area provider of foodservice products, hotel amenities, cleaning and maintenance, packaging and office supplies.

LinkeDrive’s PedalCoach application sets a unique fueling target for each driver communicated in a simple red-yellow-green interface that allows drivers to earn “points” for achieving optimal behaviors and patterns.

Arrow Paper uses PedalCoach as part of an incentive program to increase job satisfaction and performance of drivers.

“LinkeDrive’s PedalCoach is helping us to achieve up to a 19 percent increase in MPG on our trucks, while also providing incentives to our drivers for driving in a manner that saves fuel,” said Scott Penna, president of Arrow Paper.

“PedalCoach has made me a more engaged and positive driver,” added Mike Scammon, a driver with Arrow Paper. “By following the screen’s simple-to-read gauge, I am able to quickly achieve compensation for driving well.”

Jeff Baer, president and chief executive of LinkeDrive, says the cloud-based platform gives both drivers and fleet managers real-time information.

“With PedalCoach’s pay-for-performance capabilities, drivers are motivated to keep their gauges within the green, save fuel and understand beforehand how well they’ve performed,” he says.

LinkeDrive’s PedalCoach application can be deployed on LinkeDrive’s Android device and any Android-based tablets installed in cabs. Fleets can securely access driver and truck analytics through an online portal to track trends, compare drivers, assess differences in truck models, and evaluate regional and seasonal variances in performance.
