(Photo by 365 Trucking)CFI, the former Con-way and XPO truckload division recently acquired by TransForce (No. 7 on the CCJ Top 250), announced it is raising per-mile pay for its drivers by two cents. It also said it’s purchasing new Kenworth tractors in 2017.
The company says that, combined with its incentive and compensation programs, new-hire over-the-road drivers with one year of experience now start out at 44.5 cents per mile. Team drivers, owner-operators and hourly California drivers also received pay increases, the company says.
CFI also announced it will purchase 626 Kenworth T680 trucks this year, equipped with Cummins engines and automated manual transmissions, citing driver preference as the driving force behind the decision. The company plans to install PeopleNet electronic logging devices and fleet management systems in its trucks beginning in April.
