Montgomery Transport, a 450-plus truck flatbed fleet out of Birmingham, Ala., has introduced a new pay package for its existing drivers, as well as an increase in its new driver incentive program.
All of the company’s drivers are receiving a one cent-per-mile increase for all miles, bringing average annual pay for the company’s drivers to $62,000. The company says its top 10 percent of drivers earn more than $71,500.
New drivers joining the fleet will also see an increase to Montgomery’s “Road to Success” startup incentives. New truckers will earn up to $10,000 (up from $8,500) in incentive pay for criteria such as orientation, time of the job, years of experience and safe driving.
