Geotab acquires FleetCarma for electric vehicle telematics

Geotab announced the acquisition of FleetCarma, a specialist in Electric Vehicle (EV) telematics and a forerunner in the electric vehicle industry for over 10 years.

The adoption of electric vehicles has increased over the past several years, resulting in more than 3 million EVs on the road today, Geotab stated in the press release.

“Geotab’s long-standing commitment to sustainability and innovation is further amplified by the acquisition of FleetCarma,” said Neil Cawse, CEO, Geotab. “We are excited to expand our presence in the EV space and offer our current and future customers a reliable telematics solution to help meet their changing business and fleet needs.”

FleetCarma is based in “Silicon Valley North” within Waterloo, Ontario, and specializes in providing telematics for hybrid and electric vehicles. With customers in North America and Europe, FleetCarma works with utility companies to understand and manage the impact that EV charging has on the electric grid.
