Cargo Transporters adds trailer locating, safety training to driver app
Cargo Transporters (No. 182 on the CCJ Top 250) has added trailer locating and remote safety training to its driveCT mobile app for drivers.

The app’s new Find the Trailer feature allows Cargo Transporters drivers to quickly locate trailers by entering the trailer number in the app at the carrier’s lot or customer locations. During relays, drivers can map how far a trailer is from an exchange point.

Cargo Transporters drivers can also access online training provided by Instructional Technologies Inc. (ITI) that cover a range of safety and seasonal topics and can be based on analysis of areas where instruction is needed.

“The latest additions for finding trailers and accessing online safety training were a direct result of driver input that put important and useful information at our drivers’ fingertips,” said Cargo Transporters COO Jerry Sigmon Jr. We always encourage dialogue between drivers and fleet managers because it’s the best way to get new ideas that lead to improved driver safety, comfort, efficiency and satisfaction.”

Kenworth now offering advanced driver assist system on T880, W990
Kenworth is now offering as an option on T880 and W990 models the Wabco OnGuardACTIVE advanced driver assistance system. Wabco says the system helps drivers mitigate or avoid rear-end collisions and provides adaptive cruise control.

The radar-only, advanced emergency braking and ACC system detects moving, stopped and stationary objects and provides visual, audible and haptic warnings. If necessary, it will apply the brakes to avoid or mitigate a forward collision.

Kenworth first began offering the system on the T680.
