C.H. Robinson to buy Freightquote.com for $365 million
Third party logistics giant C.H. Robinson has reached an agreement to acquire online broker Freightquote.com Inc. for $365 million in cash, the company reported Monday. The agreement is subject to regulatory approval and the deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2015.

Diesel down 2.3 cents, hits new four-year low
The national average price for a gallon of on-highway diesel fell 2.3 cents in the week ended Dec. 1 to $3.605. That’s the lowest national average since February 2011 and 27.8 cents lower than the same week last year.

Exemption request says carrier in ‘untenable position’ because of commercial learner’s permit reg
Utah-based refrigerated specialist C.R. England has applied to FMCSA for an exemption from the federal minimum training conditions that require a commercial learner’s permit holder to always be accompanied by a CDL holder in the front seat of the vehicle while the CLP holder performs behind-the-wheel training on public roads or highways.
