Dohrn Transfer Company announced Monday that it has rebranded as Dohrn following a network overhaul that repositions the regional less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier across seven Midwestern states.
The company—which serves Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Indiana, and Nebraska—consolidated its footprint by acquiring Sutton Transport in February 2025 and US Special Delivery in November 2024. Previously, Dohrn served major hubs like Chicago, Kansas City, Milwaukee, and St. Louis from outlying terminals, but those acquisitions transitioned Dohrn, Dohrn, a subsidiary of PITT OHIO Transportation Group (CCJ Top 250, No. 43), from smaller rural distribution centers into major metropolitan markets, scaling down 42 combined facilities into 24 streamlined terminals.
"Our core belief has never changed—we're here to serve our customers and do whatever it takes to help them," said Heather Dohrn, executive vice president and chief commercial officer. "What's changed is the size, needs, and locations of the customers we serve. This is Dohrn, reborn."
The carrier earlier this year executed an operational reset, pausing new sales efforts and shedding business that didn't fit the updated route density. Following the alignment, Dohrn reported a 97% on-time performance rate and a 99% exception-free rate through the second and third quarters of 2026.
The restructuring resulted in a 42% increase in direct linehaul routes, a 39% increase in door capacity, and a higher concentration of drivers per square mile, the company said,.
