United Road names new CEO

Automobile-hauling fleet United Road (CCJ Top 250, No. 63) has announced the promotion of Ryan Kraft to Chief Executive Officer.

Ryan KraftRyan KraftKraft, 43, has been a driving force at United Road for over 15 years, steadily rising through the organization and leaving a lasting impact in every position he has held, the company said. Most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer, and prior to that as Chief Digital Officer, Kraft has also held roles in IT, project management, and financial analysis, giving him a comprehensive view of the business.

“The Board approved this promotion with the highest level of confidence,” said Mark Anderson, immediate past Chairman and CEO. “Ryan has consistently brought vision, integrity, and an unwavering drive to deliver results. He understands our business, our customers, and our culture as well as anyone. He is absolutely the right person to lead United Road into its next era.”

Under Kraft’s leadership, United Road has embraced innovation, including the development of Haully, in-vehicle telematics, and a real-time customer portal – advancements that have strengthened the company’s industry leadership and commitment to service, United Road said.

Kraft expressed both excitement for the future and deep gratitude for his predecessor.

“It is an honor to step into this role. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together at United Road and energized by the opportunities ahead,” said Kraft. “I am especially thankful to Mark for his steadfast leadership during some of the most challenging years in our company’s history. His example of thoughtful, servant leadership inspires me, and I will work every day to uphold that practice of leadership at United Road.”

Kraft began his career as a financial analyst at Ford Motor Company and later served as Chief Information Officer at Wilbanks Energy Services in New Mexico before joining United Road.

Troopers in six states cracking down on seat belt use this week

On the heels of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s International Roadcheck initiative, state police in six states are joining forces this week to focus on seat belt use in each of their respective jurisdictions.

The 6-State Trooper Project includes the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police and West Virginia State Police.

The eight‐day initiative began Monday, May 19, and continues through Monday, May 26, to include Memorial Day.

During last year’s initiative, the six states involved in the effort issued a total of 8,159 seat belt citations.

The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and information sharing.
