Diesel fuel prices remained mostly unchanged during the most recent week, falling by just two-tenths of a cent, according to the Department of Energy’s weekly report.
The U.S.’ average price for a gallon of on-highway diesel is now $3.032, the lowest national average since mid-February.
Fuel prices fell in most regions during the week with the most significant decrease being seen in the Central Atlantic region, where prices fell by 1.3 cents.
California’s prices during the week were flat and remained at $3.94 per gallon as the nation’s most expensive fuel, followed by the Central Atlantic region at $3.233 per gallon.
The cheapest fuel can be found in the Gulf Coast region at $2.787 per gallon, followed by the Lower Atlantic region at $2.923 per gallon.
Prices in other regions, according to DOE, are:
- New England – $3.107
- Midwest – $2.942
- Rocky Mountain – $2.965
- West Coast less California – $3.182
