Truckload carrier PAM Transport (CCJ Top 250, No. 55) reported a narrowed net loss for the second quarter, buoyed by an 8.9% gain in total revenues and improved operational efficiencies despite a hit from a legal liability accrual.

The Tontitown-based company posted a net loss of $7.4 million for the quarter ended June 30. That compares with a net loss of $9.6 million during the same period last year.

Quarterly operating revenues rose to $164.7 million from $151.1 million in the second quarter of 2025.

The second-quarter results were affected by a one-time pre-tax accrual of $3.1 million regarding auto liability claims from prior years that may exceed insurance coverage limits. On an after-tax basis, the legal accrual added $2.3 million to the net loss, reducing diluted earnings by 11 cents per share, the company noted.

President Lance Stewart highlighted operational gains in PAMT's earnings report, pointing to a 12.8% year-over-year increase in truck productivity (miles per truck per day) and a drop in uncompensated empty miles to 7.4%, down from 8.9% a year ago.

Stewart added that market conditions permitted a sequential increase in the rate per total mile for the first time in over three years, offering relief against ongoing inflationary pressures and driver supply limits.

In a separate announcement, PAMT Corp. named Daniel C. Kleine as chief financial officer, effective July 30. Kleine previously served as the company’s senior vice president of finance and treasurer, having joined the firm in June 2023.

As of June 30, PAMT Corp. held $116.7 million in cash, marketable equity securities, and available liquidity. Total outstanding debt stood at $332.8 million, representing a $1.1 million reduction from the end of 2025.
