NATSO, Fastport partner to help military vets find jobs with truck stops

The National Association of Truck Stop Operators (NATSO) has announced a partnership with Fastport to help NATSO members hire military veterans and service members transitioning into civilian life.

Fastport works with veterans and military personnel looking to transition into civilian life to find jobs in the transportation industry. NATSO said its board members expressed last year a need for more employees, and the organization believes its partnership with Fastport will help fill those gaps.

“As we prepare to remember the people who have died while serving in our armed forces on [Memorial Day], we are reminded of the need to help veterans and transitioning service members in this country who are trained leaders with vast experience in critical truck stop operator skills, such as problem solving and safety,” said Pamela Hayes, vice president of business development at NATSO. “NATSO members have a need for experienced leaders, and veterans are a perfect fit.”

Fastport President Brad Bentley said his agency will work to connect truck stops looking for managers and shop mechanics with military veterans looking for civilian careers through the new partnership.
