Super Bowl Sunday marks the one-year anniversary of a new generation’s introduction to Paul Harvey.
Harvey’s epic 1978 FFA speech, “So God Made A Farmer,” narrated arguably the most epic Super Bowl commercial of last year’s event.
With the world’s attention, Ram declared 2013 the “Year of the Farmer” and the two-minute television spot kicked off a year-long initiative to bring national attention to the significance of the American farmer. Ram pledged to donate up to $1 million to FFA for views of the “Farmer” video on the Ram Truck brand website. The brand reached the 10-million-view milestone, equating to the $1 million donation, in less than a week. As the football calendar turns to Super Bowl XLVIII, “Farmer” has been viewed online more than 22 million times.

So what is on deck for Ram when the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks square off Sunday?
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles announced Friday the company will debut three commercials during Sunday’s Big Game XLVIII. The first spot will debut during the first commercial break in the 1st quarter; the second will premiere during halftime; and the third will debut in the last commercial break of the 3rd quarter.
The company declined to provide any detail, so we’ll have to wait and see if Ram makes another farmer, or if they find another way to steal the spotlight during a televised event where the commercials are nearly as watched as the event itself.
