Orders for Class 8 trucks have swelled over the past 12 months to record highs as carriers look to add trucks due to tight capacity and to leverage good times to replenish their fleet’s equipment. Industry analysts continue to note that backlogs are building, and fleets are increasingly having to wait longer for their new trucks to be put in service.
