00:00 This week’s CCJ Tech Shorts highlights an acquisition that addresses truck capacity, a freight matching platform integration and a new EV charging platform.

00:24 Two logistics companies have announced plans to combine. Transportation | Warehouse Optimization, the provider of AutoO2 load optimization software, has said it intends to acquire ProvisionAI, the provider of a patented, optimized replenishment transportation scheduling solution called LevelLoad. The two companies have the same founder and are often implemented together.

This combination aims to bridge the gap between supply planning and execution to turn demand into optimized trucks that minimize wasted transportation capacity.

LevelLoad addresses the challenge of uneven shipment schedules from manufacturing plants to customer-facing warehouses. It analyzes shipment patterns over the next 30 days and identifies spikes in demand. The system then adjusts the schedule by shipping some products early or holding less-needed items until later for a more balanced transportation plan. AutoO2 is a load-building solution that builds the maximum possible payload that can ship legally and damage-free, allowing for almost every pound or cube of truck capacity to be used.

01:34  Freight matching marketplace 123Loadboard has integrated with Trimble to provide its users added freight hauling opportunities and increased loads.

Trimble's broker members can now post loads on 123Loadboard's smart platform and access broker capacity tools that help them see where available trucks are situated near their loads. Carrier members are encouraged to post their trucks so brokers can reach out to them based on their verification status and equipment type. 123Loadboard's integration with Trimble will allow carriers to search and secure loads using bidding as well as seamless, book-now digital transactions on the freight matching platform. Members can access multiple rate sources, confirm trip mileage, review brokers' current credit ratings and calculate load profitability. Membership on 123Loadboard requires drivers to verify their operating authority to establish their credibility.

02:31 ChargePoint, a provider of networked charging solutions for electric vehicles, has deployed its new Express Plus Power Link 2000 DC fast charging platform for all EV drivers, including those of commercial trucks.

Express Plus is a modular DC fast charging platform. The architecture is based on Power Blocks, which house up to five Power Modules to reach a desired charging specification. The Power Blocks deliver power that can be dynamically shared among Power Link charging stations, which are the actual units that plug into a vehicle. Featuring liquid-cooled cables with hardware designed and tested to deliver a reliable charging experience, these stations can simultaneously charge two vehicles at one time, at sustained high speeds of up to 500kW. Power Blocks intelligently and dynamically allocate power based on what specific vehicles can accommodate as they charge.

Offered under ChargePoint’s Express Plus architecture, the Power Link 2000 station uses a proprietary cooling architecture to deliver peak speeds for sustained periods of time, meaning an EV driver can charge and go without unexpected additional dwell times. Long-awaited features making their debut include preferential charger access via a reservation system and automatic payment functionality via “Plug & Charge.”
